Nanjiang Stone is a legendary, top-tier collectible walnut, celebrated as the "hardest bone" in the wenwan world. It originates from Nanjiangshi Village, Zhuolu County, Hebei. It is predominantly a high-stature, bullet-shaped or triangular cultivar with massive, broad, thick ridges and a full, robust belly. Its signature marks include a distinct cross-shaped tip, a deeply concave base, and a small, diamond-shaped navel. The texture is deeply grooved, rugged, and dense, often featuring intricate "ant patterns" or "flowing water patterns" with strong, three-dimensional relief. It possesses extreme density, unparalleled hardness, and a signature golden-yellow skin. It is famously slow to color, requiring years of dedicated handling, but ultimately matures into a deep, translucent, glassy oxblood-red or agate patina with a profound, jade-like finish.
